Americans With Asthma Wanting to Enlist in the Military

Created by J.C. on January 14, 2013

Every year men and women that are of age enlist in one of the branches of the military. However, not all Americans are allowed to join the military. Out of those few, the ones who have asthma who feel they have a deep obligation and duty to fight for their country, but are not allowed because they are deemed unfit. I am one of these Americans, and like me others with asthma have spent their lives looking forward to the day they can enlist in the military, and have a sense of pride. Some even go to the lengths of lying about their medical history, but some make it and others are found out and dishonorably discharged. I am fighting for the right as well as the right of other Americans to serve my country despite having asthma.
