...And The Pursuit of Happiness: Lift the Import Ban on Kinder Surprises (Kinder Eggs)

Created by S.R. on January 14, 2013

Perhaps in retaliation for Italy's role before the onset of WWII, Kinder Surprises [Eggs] are currently banned for import under the FFDCA for 80 years and this was brashly reaffirmed in 2012 by the FDA: "The embedded 'non-nutritive' [inedible] objects in these 'confectionery products' [liberties] may pose a public health risk as the consumer may 'unknowingly' [stupidly] choke on the 'object' [happiness]." This is absurd and an inexcusable insult to the free citizens of the Republic.

Though the name of the delightful Italian candies reference non-nutritive "Surprises," let's be honest, no one is surprised when they open a Kinder. We know it's toy, or stickers, or a Kung Fu Panda temporary tattoo - to deny our children wondrous delight is simply un-American. End the War on Happiness
