This petition serves to protect the lives of animals that have found themselves in city shelters, whether it be due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, etc. Their circumstances becomes the same, finding themselves in a race to go through the front door alive, which many don't.
There needs to be a complete reform from city regulations to community awareness. Budget cutting, breed discrimination, no community education are some of the reasons as to why so many animals die in shelters everyday.
We petition to increase budgets, awareness, and make spay/neutering mandatory in every public funded shelter to insure the survival for the future generation of incoming animals. Animals living in shelters today barely have a chance of surviving, lets change this for the next group of forgotten pets.
