There are currently 11.3 million undocumented immigrants in the US as stated by Albert R. Hunt in the New York Times. It would cost the US between 400 to 600 billion dollars to deport all illegal immigrants, that is between 35,000 and 53,000 dollars per person.
Who wants to build a wall? The Mexican border is 1,900 miles long. Berlin Wall, fortified with trigger-happy armed guards, had about a 95 percent success rate and it was only 96 miles long. A Concrete wall 12 feet high, 6 feet deep, and 3 feet wide would take over 9 million 80 lb. bags of concrete mix at the cost of $22.39 a bag that’s 20 billion dollars.
It will cost the American taxpayer between $420 to $620 billion dollars to build a wall and deporting all the illegal immigrants to Mexico. (Forbes)
