During World War Two the people of Sicily helped the Us Military to gain control of the island. After the war there was talk among some people in the US Government to make Sicily part of the United States. Many people in the US have had family members come from Sicily. And many people that live there now have never felt that they were part of the Italian main land. Also the island has a wonderful agricultural system. In exchange we give the country of Italy the state of Texas. The people of Texas never wanted to be a part of the US any way.
