We ask President Obama to announce a bipartisan deal with state and local governments to enact sweeping gun-control measures. We ask our President to stand with new gun laws that would prohibit private sales, require that all weapons be individually registered to their owners, and require that gun buyers present a genuine reason for needing each weapon at the time of the purchase. (Self-defense shouldn't count.)
