Announce how many of us have to voice support for a change in cannabis (marijuana) laws before we are taken seriously?

Created by S.G. on November 03, 2011

Recent polls show that more than 50% of Americans support a change in cannabis laws. Petitions on this site regarding changing cannabis laws have gathered the most signatures, by far, than any other issue since these petitions were started. We have been answered with laughter, ridicule and brush-offs citing outdated opinions and no actual science.

We call to be taken seriously. This is an issue that clearly many Americans want discussed.

We call for actual evidence, and testimony under oath, that marijuana has a "high potential for abuse, ... no currently accepted medical use ... and there is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug ..." (elements required to classify cannabis as a Schedule 1 drug)

We call for the White House to stop ignoring the majority of Americans.
