We are on a downward path where parties and different houses refuse to work together and compromise. If this is not changed, we will see further disfunction of our government that is supposed to be working together for all of our best interests, not just their particular party or special interests to win the next primary.
They all need to be held accountable as a whole. We should have a national vote every year on whether or not we approve of the total work done by the President, Senate, and Congress as a whole (not just parts and not by party affiliation.) If at least 50% of the vote doesn't approve of their total work product, then their pay AND BENEFITS will be decreased by 50% for a year until the next vote.
They can no longer blame each other, they are in it together as a whole.
