Any law that affects military retirement should have similar affects on Congress and senior government officials.

Created by S.B. on March 31, 2015

The White House and Secretary of Defense have announced support for changes to the military retirement system. Some military members welcome these changes and others do not. Unfortunately it appears some type of change will happen and a lot of people will be disappointed.

Since the government is looking to make these changes mainly as a way to tackle long term military spending, they MUST also consider changes to other government retirement plans.

Retirement plans for congress and senior government officials should be tied to any change affecting the military. Keeping in mind military members are in more need of a strong retirement plan than most well to do congressmen and senior officials, these comparisons should be proportional.
