At present, persons having served in the military reserves during peacetime are not considered veterans. That there was no war at the time is no fault of theirs, they still volunteered and did their duty in respect to serving their country. (ie: a person serving in the U.S.Army Reserve for 6 years with 6 months active duty, and monthly weekend meetings, and 2 weeks every summer, at present may not call himself / herself a veteran). I propose that any person, having voluntarily served, or planning to serve, in any U.S. Armed Forces be considered for all purposes a veteran.
