Any Politician Caught in Public or Private Lying to an American Citizen shall not be allowed to run for Public office

It is against the law to sell a product to a consumer while lying or misleading them(false advertising). I would simply like to see a law enacted that would block any person in the United States from running for public office that lies to Any other American Citizen since what are doing is selling a product(themselves). I don't see it being too far of a stretch. When I watched the first debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney I had seen all the republican debates so I felt Mitt Romney was destroyed since he kept lying over and over. He wasn't corrected or stopped. This needs to stop in the US
