The U.S. Government needs to apologize for its role in the Mexican Repatriation during the 1930s. Our Government illegally rounded-up an estimated 1.2 million U.S. Citizens and 800,000 immigrants, including their families, at dance halls, markets, hospitals, theaters, and parks, loaded them onto trains and vans, and deported them to Mexico without due process. These illegal raids and deportations occurred across the U.S. Yet, only the State of California and the L.A. County Board of Supervisors have been brave enough to apologize for their actions.
