If the enemy of this American is his own government, and his principal defender is the Constitution, it becomes the first enemy of his government. You understand this conflict, but try to control it by claiming to be the only interpreter and protector of his Constitution. You insist on this role, then allow your agencies to violate those rights. You let him down and probably caused him to have trust issues. You should just let him protect his constitution himself. It wouldn't kill anyone to let him play with his gun on youtube either.
