The 2nd amendment has outlived its original intent to protect the citizens of the United States of America. The 2nd amendment was originally created so we as citizens could protect our land. Our land is no longer constantly threatened by invasion and those guns have found a new role. Now we live in a society where there are constant mass shootings. We are now raising children in a society where gun violence is the new norm.
As of 2012 the people of America have seen the following mass shootings: Colorado Movie Theater Shooting, Accent Signage Systems Shooting, Sikh Temple Shooting, Oikos University Shooting, Su Jung Health Sauna Shooting, Newtown Elementary School Shooting, Oregon Mall Shooting, and many many others.
