An appeal to the President and Congress: you must cooperate to give America a comprehensive and timely budget.

The American people understand that working across political divides and ideological differences is a difficult job. We know that creating a budget is a tedious process and that our nation’s budget is enormously difficult to craft.
But we elected you all because we believed that you could do this job, and it is past time that you sit down with one other and get it done. You have 8 days left before sequestration takes effect and our country violently comes to understand the incredible need we have for a reformed national budget that works. You must cooperate. You MUST compromise.
We, the people, need a government that works, and that works together. We need you to provide security for the American people across all walks of life and levels of society.
We need a comprehensive budget, now.
