Apply all the knowledge we now have about environmental causes of asthma to achieve optimal health of our communities

Environmental interventions to prevent asthma are well researched and show that great improvements in the health of communities can be achieved by modest investments directed at reducing or eliminating environmental causes of asthma. Rodents, roaches, and mold are all now shown to be very dangerous threats to the health of many Americans. The same is true of air quality, which effects entire communities, not just individuals and families. We call on the Federal government to invest far greater amounts in the interventions that will remove these conditions and provide a return on investment to the American taxpayer and their insurer's, both public and private, who will have reduced expenditures due to both acute and chronic treatment of asthma, as well as improving quality of life.
