apply any and all necessary pressure on the country of Sudan to spare Miriam Ibrahim from execution for her Christianity

Created by C.O. on May 28, 2014

Miriam Ibrahim is a lifelong Christian accused of apostasy and adultery, and has been sentenced to die by an Islamic court in Sudan. She is the wife of an American citizen, Daniel Wani, and has herself applied for citizenship three years ago (which has not yet been acted on due to bureaucratic foot-dragging). Her 20-month old son is in prison with her, as is her newborn daughter (DOB: 5/26/14).

Miriam Ibrahim will be executed by hanging (after receiving a whipping of 100 lashes) once her daughter has been weaned. Time for the administration to act is disappearing.

We implore the administration to use appropriate diplomatic, economic, and other necessary means to compel the government of Sudan to release Ms. Ibrahim and her children unharmed, and to grant them asylum in the U.S.
