The purpose of the second amendment is to retain civilian control of the government. It has nothing to do with hunting or sport.
Any restrictions the Federal government imposes on citizens should also apply to all domestic government agencies.
If there is no reason for citizens to have a modern weapon, or accessory, domestic government agencies should not have it either.
