Freedom of Information Act is the law that forces our executive branch to be open and transparent on all communications. This act deliberately exempts congress from the same review. The emails and exchanges of our congressmen must be open and transparent for citizen oversight.
How can we hold our congress accountable if we cannot see open/transparent records?
It is also hypocritical of congress to constantly submit subpoenas to the executive branch to see every single email when we cannot see one email from congress.
Congress should not have an exemption from the laws it passes.
Congress should not oppose providing open and transparent information on how they decided to support bills or who they made deals with.
We deserve/demand oversight of our congressmen and senators.
