Apply a law for domestic violence trained advocates and counselors to be required when addressing child custody in court

Created by J.N. on January 08, 2015

The current process is full of corrupt practices that do benefit the best interest of the child because Domestic Relation Judges in IL do not have to take and domestic laws in consideration when determining custody. This can be corrected by applying the 1994 Violence Against Women Act to Family Law. By signing this petition we are asking the President of the United States by Executive Order to act on behalf of the domestic violence victims. By applying the 1994 Violence Against Women Act to the decision in deciding custody helps in the cycle of for violence. Research show over 70% of children raised by an abuser either become an abuser or a victim of abuse. This would also give mothers and fathers an opportunity to address the youth emotional needs.
