We the People would ask that the federal government launch an investigation on the feasibility and benefits of the United States of America becoming a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, as it is eligible to apply having been previously a member of the British Empire. Recognizing that there is major dissent among the American people towards recognizing a monarch as their head of state, we would like to point out that it is not required for the US to recognize Queen Elizabeth II as the Head of the Commonwealth. However, this title is no different than say "Secretary-General of the UN" and is not a title of nobility as forbidden in Article I, S. 9, Cl. 8 of the United States Constitution. The economic and immigration benefits could be substantial and the US should look into this.
