We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Apply United States Code Title 18, Section 871 to presidential candidates

Created by J.W. on August 09, 2016

In our volatile environment, presidential candidates should be afforded the same protection as the President of the United States. In 1968, we unfortunately witnessed that the outcome of elections can be changed by the assassination of candidates.

We are requesting that presidential candidates be afforded protections under United States Code Title 18, Section 871, which makes it a class E felony to knowingly and willfully make "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States."
