Bruce Schneier is an internationally-renowned security expert whose approach to security is based on reason and pragmatism rather than fear. He values civil liberties and human rights just as much as security, and knows how to prevent the two from conflicting with each other.The majority of Americans agree that the DHS and TSA, erected in thoughtless haste 12 years ago and permitted to grow with few or no limits ever since then, are desperately in need of rational-minded reform and new ideas, and Mr. Schneier has those ideas. Of the present nominees presently being discussed to replace Janet Napolitano, none sound like they would be willing to or capable of offering such reforms, and might actively make existing problems worse. Appoint Bruce Schneier as head of the DHS.
