Elizabeth Warren will bring a wealth of expertise and integrity to the Senate Banking Committee. She is recognized as one of the nation's leading bankruptcy experts, particularly bankruptcy issues affecting families, consumers and individuals facing catastrophic losses beyond their control. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, Warren served as Chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). In this capacity, she brought a strong, independent voice to Washington in an effort to protect taxpayers, hold Wall Street accountable, and ensure tough oversight of both the Bush and Obama administrations. She was also instrumental in creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and will continue to fight for working families.
