Love her or hate her, the President should not only have a strong voice to express the views of the administration on the topics of the day, but also to confront and call out the members of the press when they ask idiotic or unimportant questions. Her appointment would be well received by administration supporters. For administration opponents, at least they can say that the boring and mundane -- White House press conferences generally -- will have a whole new character to them that'll make them worth watching. And if none of those arguments convince you, after all the political gamesmanship and haggling over past 12 years, the American people need a little bit of comic relief coming from Washington D.C., which Ms. Pelosi could certainly provide.
