Appoint Janet Yellin as Chair of the Federal Reserve. She is the most qualified, capable person for this job.

Created by S.H. on July 26, 2013

Janet Yellen is next in line at the Federal Reserve and has accurately predicted the scope and longevity of the Great Recession, warning against austerity measures and encouraging policies that would create jobs, first and foremost. Yellen is a noted economist who headed the Council of Economic Advisors for two years; led the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank for six years; and has served ably as Bernanke's Vice Chairman since 2010. But, the Obama Administration may be unwisely overlooking her, the most proven, capable person for the job. Instead, the White House is considering Larry Summers, a notorious member of a gang of deregulators who has previously shown no interest in the Federal Reserve or strengthening the middle class; instead supporting Wall Street bond sharks.
