We demand that you submit to the Senate your appointment to Justice Scalia's Supreme Court seat this mid-summer at the very latest. The American People cannot wait until mid-2017 for the ninth Justice to be confirmed. Let the political blow-back fall as it may.
Remain resolute that your duty is to preserve the legitimacy of our Supreme Court's primacy to interpret the application of our Constitution and Bill of Rights based on the consideration of a majority of nine legal scholars, not eight. Without nine, the Court's opinions will be forever suspect.
Mr. President, we want you to make the appointment, regardless of the presidential political considerations.
