We the People petition President Barack Obama to appoint Professor Lawrence Lessig as the next Supreme Court Justice of the United States of America.
Lessig is the Roy L. Furman Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and is considered by many to be one of the top legal scholars in the country. Professor Lessig is highly respected among both democrats and republicans. Conservative Judge Richard Posner described Lessig as "the most distinguished law professor of his generation."
In addition to serving as a law clerk for Judge Posner, Lessig also served as a clerk for the late Justice Antonin Scalia at the Supreme Court, making him a qualified and fitting candidate to replace Justice Scalia.
