The Secretary of Defense has to manage the largest, most complicated orgnanized structure in the US; and also must manage and allocate the highest amount of $$ from our yearly budget. Why not appoint a successful CEO to a position that demands a CEO; and it would be a good showing of bipartisanship to appoint your fellow rival. Let's be real, he couldn't have been president, but he may be a good Sec. of Defense.
