We the signers of this petition recognize the importance and long overdue opportunity for representation of the Native Americans upon the highest court of our land. Diane J. Humetewa is a reasonable, qualified, and suitable nominee to serve upon our highest court. The Native peoples have suffered genocide, discrimination, and oppression for far to long. The election of President Obama has burst through many "glass ceilings" through his election, his service, and his thoughtful actions to provide the oppressed hope, dignity, and a place in the future of this nation being a more perfect union. We request that the administration consider Diane J. Humetewa and other Native Americans for nominations and confirmations to our nations government leadership and civil servant positions.
