Appoint only persons for cabinet positions with experience and expertise in the area of their designated position.

Created by S.R. on April 11, 2014

We the people petition the president and all elected officials to no longer nominate or approve persons with little or no expertise in the roles in which they are nominated for. With the nomination of Sylvia Burwell for HHS Director it is evident a change must be made. She was budget director and a Walmart executive, not involved in healthcare. This is not a new trend to nominate business leaders, attorneys, or friends of political parties to important advisory positions.

Although I am sure nominees are well-educated, they lack the expertise to advise our president and in turn help set policy for the citizens of our country. Just because the nominee has been to the doctor, it does not make them an expert or grant them the ability to initiate, advise upon, or speak about healthcare policy.
