Appoint Larry Lessig as Justice on the Supreme Court

Created by L.N. on February 14, 2016

President Barack Obama should appoint Larry Lessig as Justice on the Supreme Court to replace Scalia's seat.

Lawrence Lessig is the Roy L. Furman Professor of Law and Leadership at Harvard Law School. He clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia on the United States Supreme Court and Judge Richard Posner on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Lessig serves on the advisory boards of the Sunlight Foundation, which advocates for an open government.

As an independent political activist, Lessig has called for state-based activism to promote substantive reform of government with a Second Constitutional Convention. In May 2014, he launched a crowd-funded political action committee which he termed Mayday PAC with the purpose of electing candidates to Congress who would pass campaign finance reform.
