Mr. President, the practice of repeatedly appointing law enforcement specialists as heads of National Drug Policy is as absurd as appointing a laboratory scientist to run the Pentagon, or a night guard as the CEO of a company - not just once in a while but over and over and over again.
We are fed up with having policemen decide what to and what not to put inside out bodies. It is an issue of medical science, nutritional science, human rights, civil rights, social policy, psychology, psychiatry, public health, international diplomacy AND LASTLY - law enforcement.
Please appoint a non-law enforcement expert this time and give approaches other than violence escalation and imprisonment a chance to fight drug addiction
