Why should lawmakers and politicians be in charge of the future of STEM? The US House Committee of Science, Space, and Technology has control over organizations like NASA, EPA, NSF, FEMA, NOAA, DOE, and others. If scientists aren't in charge of deciding what is best for science, how can we be sure science will keep advancing?
The link below shows basic information on the current committee members, and the bold members have degrees in STEM fields:

This petition calls for reform of the House Science Committee, to appoint qualified individuals to speak on behalf of the scientific community, and to provide a fair representation of science in this committee.
