Appoint a Special Envoy to promote religious freedom of religious minorities in the Near East and South Central Asia.

President Barack Obama signed a bipartisan bill (Public Law 113-61) into law on August 8, 2014 which would provide for the establishment of a Special Envoy to "Promote Religious Freedom of Religious Minorities in the Near East and South Central Asia." A Special Envoy would ensure that the concerns of religious and ethnic minorities in the Middle East would be addressed at the highest levels of government. A year has gone by since the bill was signed into law; Christians and ethno-religious minorities have seen unprecedented levels of persecution. The crises occurring in Iraq and Syria represent one of the worst humanitarian disasters since World War II. Let's urge the White House to appoint a Special Envoy and reaffirm to our brothers and sisters in the Middle East that we stand with them.
