Considering media stories of alleged cover-ups by the U.S. Attorney's office in Arizona in the gunwalking case, "Fast and Furious," the resistance to Senator Grassley and Rep. Issa's investigations, recordings by CBS news indicating that some evidence is being withheld, multiple murders that have been committed using weapons illegally released by US agents into Mexico, and indications that the motives for the operation were political, rather than law enforcement related, it's time that an independent prosecutor be appointed to investigate the Justice Department, the ATF, and any and all parties that were involved in this illegal operation. A special prosecutor should establish who authorized the option and take action accordingly.
