The highest ranking United States Public Health official has an 'acting' or 'deputy' next to his title of Surgeon General. As a loyal and proud American seeing this lack of clear and responsible leadership is disheartening to say the least. This position is vital in the fight against epidemics, among many other issues in the sphere of public health in the US.
Ebola should not represent a clear and present danger to a country as sophisticated and modern as ours. Let not one more American needless become a victim of this terrible disease.
