The Flag Desecration Amendment is a proposed amendment that would allow congress to "prohibit statutorily the physical desecration of the flag of the United States." This amendment would make it illegal to stand on, burn, or destroy the United States flag. This very same amendment was proposed in 2006, however, it lost in senate by one single vote. We must to preserve the our nation's flag, and put a stop to the ridiculous allowance of this act. As of now, flag desecration is legal, because it is protected by the first amendment; but it must end soon.
