Request for Statehood for Puerto Rico. We do not wish to remain a colony any longer nor to continue as second class U.S. citizens.The overwhelming mayority (62%) of the voters in the most recent general elections in Puerto Rico voted in favor of statehood. We should no longer be ignored since the people of Puerto Rico have spoken.
We want to be able to vote for the President of the United States whose decisions affect us, yet we have no say so.
We urge the President to seriously consider our petition and grant our entry as the 51st State of the Union.
