I believe that spouses who are receiving unemployment should not be denied after a PSC move.
I was laid off receiving unemployment looking for new employment. My husband was in Afghanistan & unexpectedly received orders to Japan. I called IL unemployment and informed them, they said not a problem. I arrived in Japan called to report it & gave them my new address. I reconfirmed everything was OK. They said yes. I then exhausted my benefits and called for the extension. The man approved it & said it was not a problem. After hanging up he informed a supervisor who then denied it due to "move to a less favorable job market" I was order to pay everything from the day I arrived. I appealed. They said moving with an active duty spouse was not an excuse. Spouses should not be penalized for PCS.
