Approve the Waiver for Indiana's Healthy Indiana Plan to continue past 2014

Created by A.M. on January 12, 2013

Currently the Healthy Indiana Plan provides healthy coverage for approximately 45,000 Indiana residents. This consumer driver plan has made health care affordable for those that are not eligible for medicaid, yet cannot afford health insurance. The member pays a premium into a health savings account called a power account. This premium is based on income level. This account is used for coverage. Once the power account is used up the standard medical coverage kicks in. If the member meets the preventative care requirements any amount remaining in the power account is then rolled into next year. The Obama administration has denied Indiana's request to allow the Healthy Indiana Plan to continue under Obamacare.
