April 30th Should be a National Holiday: Foundation Day!

Created by J.K. on January 21, 2013

We the people vouch that in 2013, April 30th be declared a national holiday, Foundation Day. On this day, our First President, George Washington was sworn in to office, in 1789. This was the day that True democracy was laid down. Also, on this day, Hitler committed suicide, which is what won the War in Europe in 1945, arguably ending the Great Depression which plagued our country for so long, and brought us into the roaring 50's, the classical American family. Both of those events are very significant events in America's history, one laying the foundation for Democracy, and the other laying the foundation for a better life. We should celebrate this day as a National holiday for everyone to acknowledge America for what it truly stands for.
