Mr. President, in light of the tragic and brutal attack on the Sandy Hook Elementary school and on behalf of my own two children, one of which is in kindergarten, I am formally requesting an armed presence at every school nationwide from this point forward.
Whether it's an on-duty or off-duty police officer we need an armed person at or near our school grounds to protect our children. (Citizen's such as myself who have a concealed handgun license could obtain special training from a local police station and volunteer our time and/or recruit retired military)
Although it is every Americans' right to bear arms, which I truly believe in, we must be proactive and protect our children from those who are unstable. Metal detectors and bullet proof glass should be instituted as well.
