We should have our military uniforms much like the clones in Star Wars. having full body suits with light weight ARMOR not plastic will protect our troops and can be temperature regulated for any environment. The helmet can also have a HUD to see what's going on, on the battlefield. and to too it all off we'd be wearing some pretty crazy sexy armor. maybe even throw in a star ship.
