This 11 year old child is being traumatized and persecuted by his school district over what amounts to a case of "Let's pretend we're grown-ups."
This is an outrage. I don't know what power the federal government has to step in and put a stop to this, but at the very least, I'm hoping that perhaps a phone call from President Obama directly to the child to explain to him that it's the adults who are acting childish, paranoid and petty that's the issue here. There is no discipline necessary for being in possession of a Japanese maple tree leaf.
