Donald Trump's comments about Muslims are not only (i) incredibly insulting, (ii) false and unfounded, and (iii) embarrassing for our country, they are endangering the lives of American citizens (Muslim and non-Muslim alike) by playing into the exact game ISIL is hoping, inciting more anger and, likely, directly contributing to the growth of ISIL and its attacks on U.S. soil. Of course we need to be vigilant, but this is a war to be fought with love and compassion, not with hatred and isolationism.
