Arrest Records for those not convicted should not be available to the general public, including landlords and employers.

Created by L.M. on September 09, 2013

Arrest Records should not be readily available to the general public, including landlords and employers. Anyone whose case has been dropped/ dismissed or found not guilty of a crime, records should be automatically expunged and only be accessible to police departments. Many people today young and old, black and white are suffering because they have been falsely accused, or wrongfully arrested for a crime in which they are later found not guilty or the charges have been dropped/ dismissed. It is in human nature to judge; Society can be cruel and quick in speculating on one's guilt or innocence via modern technology, which prohibits “innocent until proven guilty”. Having an arrest on your record with no conviction gives no second chances to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"
