Art programs are being cut from schools

Created by R.W. on August 26, 2016

Schools are often going through the process of budget cuts. The programs that are affected the most by this process are art programs. This includes theatre, dance, art, choir, band, etc. Why do budget cuts affect art/elective programs more than they affect other core subjects? Students look forward to these classes, and these classes can be highly beneficial to students in more than one way. For example, these classes can help students with confidence, inspiration, creativity, development, and critical thinking skills. These programs have also shown to increase graduation rates. In conclusion, art programs are truly important to keep in schools.
