We call on Congress to create an Artist Bill of Rights to protect the work, finances and livelihood of artists, musicians, producers, song writers, artistic painters, stand up comedians, and other forms of self-expression which is a guaranteed right under the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.
As it now stands, the companies, distributors, and retailers all make their own rules when it comes to treatment, fairness, payments to artistic talent. Many of us make our living from our art. the rules imposed by some hurts us with tactics like payment thresholds, & quarterly payments.
Many of these corporate powers make billions while artists are paid pennies. The market make it only profitable in a capitalistic nation if you become worldwide famous. The system is rigged & we want protection.
