Ask the Attorney General to reschedule marijuana as to both further research and allow states to make their own choice.

Created by J.K. on April 06, 2014

The current classification as a Schedule I Narcotic makes it more difficult for research facilities to study the benefits of marijuana both medically as well as economically. Rescheduling marijuana would allow for research to begin to take place faster without having to wait months or years for proper permissions to be granted. The current classification also encourages law enforcement to treat those found to be in possession of even small amounts as they would heroin or meth, rather than as they would someone found with alcohol. This creates issues for employment for a large section of people who are no more than and arguably much less of a threat to the standard of life in this country than those who regularly imbibe alcohol. Please ask the AG to re/deschedule Marijuana.
